West Church is a new community centered on Jesus and grounded in the Bible. We’re building a church where people can encounter God, grow in faith, form genuine relationships, and live out their faith together.
We believe church is more than something you attend. It is a community of people learning to follow Jesus together, rooted in grace and genuine relationship. That means knowing and being known, praying for one another, sharing meals, serving our neighbors, and showing up for each other in everyday life.
The practices that shaped the first followers of Jesus still shape healthy churches today. That picture of shared life is at the heart of the church we are building in Chicago’s west suburbs.

Those same practices shape how we gather, grow, and follow Jesus at West Church. We want to be a church where faith is lived together throughout everyday life, not only on Sundays.

For Jason and Jodi Nelson, West Church is the beginning of something that has been taking shape for years.
Together with their children, Zeb, Aliza, and Jozef, they are stepping into a calling that is deeply personal to their family: to build a church where people can experience the presence of God, grow in faith, and form genuine relationships with one another.
Their hope is that West will become a place where people can come as they are, put down roots, build relationships that extend beyond Sunday mornings, and grow into the people God is calling them to become.
Prayer is part of how we live as the Church. We celebrate together, grieve together, seek God’s wisdom together, and pray for one another because we believe God hears and God moves.
Even before we gather on Sundays, we can begin praying together. If something is happening in your life, your family, or your community, we would be honored to pray with you. Share as much or as little as you are comfortable sharing.

At West Church, Spirit-filled means living with an active dependence on the Holy Spirit while remaining deeply rooted in Scripture. We seek God through biblical teaching, prayer, worship, discernment, and everyday obedience, trusting the Holy Spirit to shape our lives and work through his people.
